For over 30 years Ed Davis, President and Owner of Systems Support Group, Inc. (SSGI) has helped many companies address and solve their Information Technology needs by constantly demonstrating his leadership, knowledge, experience buy supporting a cost-effective results driven philosophy. He started the company in 1983 to provide full service for computer systems to small businesses in Connecticut. The systems ranged from designing, purchasing, installation, training, maintenance and programming, and were primarily multi-user oriented, but he also installed single-user systems.

From the outset, Ed Davis expertise was to help educate business owners on how to use technology to grow their business by being more effective and efficient in managing their day-to-day work flow.

SSGI has a series of firsts: first small business multiuse systems; first systems with hard drives; first color monitors; first CD players; first Windows based computers; first laser printers; first systems with bundled office productivity software. SSGI is Member of Microsoft Beta Testing Team.

As the business progressed at the turn of 21st century, SSGI obtained larger clients, including Visiting Nurse Associations and the companies that provide software to VNAs. This lead to SSGI understanding the health care industry and its regulations such managing and setting up systems to transfer billing files related to Medicare and Medicaid.

Today, SSGI provides IT support in six core competency areas: Cloud, Communications, Hardware, Managed IT ServicesMobile, and Security.

Ed also provides a virtual CIO service by advising and supporting his clients in: Business operations, staffing needs, managing staff, and evaluating current and future needs, along with recommending IT products and services to sustain growth and maintain operations.

As the company grew, it  hired technology experienced specialists who are able to support the needs of clients from all areas. To keep up with changes to technology, SSGI:

  • Uses a RMM system (remote monitoring and management) to enable us to monitor our Client’s IT infrastructure 24x7x365
  • Adds services to help clients meet current security and compliance requirements
  • Updates our ticketing system to the industry leader to provide better support to our Clients
  • Adds staff to support needs of larger Client base
  • Responds and contributes to industry blogs and articles
  • Attend vendor trainings on new and future products
  • Provides ongoing training via seminars and webinars
  • Are members of the FBI Infragard program
